Airport Transfer

There are various options for the airport transfer.  Below you will find the most convenient ones.

Shuttle: Whilst some hotels offer free shuttle service, is the official Airport Shuttle offering airport-to-hotel shuttle service throughout Malta and Gozo. Customers can avail of a fixed price when booking on-line.  Alternatively one can also boook upon arrival at the booking desk located in the baggage reclaim area.

Public bus: A bus stop is found just outside the Arrivals Hall.  Four airport express routes (X1, X2, X3, X4) make it easier for you to get directly to and from the airport. The service is provided by fully air-conditioned buses with additional luggage space and room for passengers. There are also other routes servicing nearby villages via the hub at the airport. Taxi: A taxi service is available 24 hours a day from Malta International Airport to any destination in Malta. Fixed rates are applicable and pre-paid tickets can be purchased from the ticket booth inside the Arrivals Hall.

Public Transport The public bus service is widely available all over the islands of Malta and Gozo.  It generally operates daily between 5:30 and 23:00, with a night service for certain routes.  Most bus routes operate at a frequency of 15 to 20 minutes.  It is advised that you apply for a tallinja card before arriving in Malta, as this will maximise savings when catching buses frequently.  Visit the official website for further details:

The white taxi service can pick up passengers from anywhere, except bus-stops.  There are taxi stands at the major touristic cities of Malta and Gozo, such as Valletta, St Julians, Sliema and Rabat.  It is always recommended to enquire and agree on a fare before you enter a taxi as taxi drivers do not use a meter.

Transport to Gozo

A regular ferry service carries passengers and cars between Malta and Gozo. The trip takes about 25 minutes.  There is a bus stop just outside both terminals in Malta and Gozo.  For more information and time-tables visit the Gozo Channel website:
